Winnie The Mondegreen

[Timothy and Katherine are discussing the next Star Trek movie, which is entering preproduction.]

Clara: Dad?

T: Yes?

C: I’m puzzled.

T: Really.

C: Yes.

T: What is puzzling you?

C: I don’t know what you and Mom are talking about.

T: Oh, we’re talking about a movie. It’s called Star Trek. Mom and I aren’t sure whether we’re going to like it or not.

K: But we should probably wait until we see it to decide.

T: Good point. Mom’s right.

C: I don’t like that movie.

T: Yeah, you probably wouldn’t. It’s a little scary.

C: What’s in it?

T: Well, probably some spaceships.

K: The spaceships are very loud.

C: With their fire? That comes out the back?

K: Yes.

T: And it’ll probably have one guy with pointy ears and one guy with a big mouth.

K: (and no shirt on)

C: I know a guy like that.

T: Really.

C: Yeah, with pointy ears, and they have holes in them.

T: Holes?

C: Yeah. He’s a toy at school.

T: Ohh.

C: He’s stuffed with… that stuff that’s in Winnie the Pooh.

T: [remembering the line from the Winnie The Pooh song: “Chubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff, oh, Winnie the Pooh…”] Oh, right: fluff.

C: Yeah… ‘fluffo.’
